NOT GUILTY AFTER TRIAL
Operating Under the Influence of Alcohol; Quincy District Court; Commonwealth v. H.R.; June 16, 2026
Braintree Police Officers were dispatched to investigate a two car rear-end motor vehicle crash. Upon their arrival the officers observed the Defendant on the telephone, speaking loudly, and slurring her speech. The Defendant initially refused to hang up the phone, put her finger in the face of a police officer, and failed to comply with the officer's requests. The Defendant smelled strongly of alcohol and attempted to walk away from the scene. Ultimately, the officers administered to the Defendant a series of field sobriety tests and thereafter the Defendant was placed under arrest.
Notwithstanding all of the above, Attorney Ciraulo was able to rebut the opinion of the arresting officers, challenge the state of the evidence, and defeat the allegations against the Defendant. As such, the Commonwealth was unable to meet the heavy standard of proof beyond a reasonable doubt and the Defendant was found Not Guilty after trial.
